As the years go by, the amount of tread and damage on our body sometimes goes by unnoticed. Who would’ve thought that simply standing up could cause so much pain? It’s easy to ignore joint pain over the years but in the end that can cost you as the pain will only get worse. Here are some home remedies for knee pain you can do at home for effectively relief. First, start by trying to lose any extra weight, this will take pressure off of the joints and in the end your knees will thank you. If you don’t think you can do this at home sign up at a gym where you can find support.
Exercise will help to strengthen the muscles around the joints to help support them and take the pain away from them. Stronger muscles mean stronger joints. Swimming is a very beneficial exercise method as any exercises you do in the pool are great for strengthening those muscles while providing the least amount of pressure that can result in more pain. Don’t forget to buy shoes that offer the proper support and accentuate your foot properly as they can make a world of difference.
Applying ice is an instant home remedy for knee pain. When you are sitting down and relaxing you can put an ice compress on them for around 20 minutes at most once an hour.
You can take a supplement called Bromelain, which is an all natural, anti-inflammatory to help you heal quicker. For pain relief take three tablets throughout the day until you recover from the pain. Bromelain has been known to spark up dermatitis in select people. So if you begin to feel itching then it’s best to stop taking them.
Another great way to feel relief is from the aid of the many nutritional supplements that cater to knee and joint pain. Supplements like Glucosamine and Chondroitin either in tablet or capsule form, fish oil, and vitamin E cream or in pill form can help for those who suffer from knee pain due to arthritis.
Natural herbs are another type of supplement that can help. Some herbal supplements to consider are devils claw, cat’s claw and ginger root can help sore joints and knee pain.
Now there are some ways you can mix herbal supplements together to get the best bang for your buck. Equal parts dried Ginger and stem of Heart Leaved Moonseed will benefit immensely by being taken alongside Chebulic Myrobalan two times a day. Another option is to take powdered seeds of Bishop’s Weed with lukewarm water two times a day.
If you are feeling very spirited you can make a smoothie type drink of the following herbs: Hingulesvara rasa, Maha Yogaraja guggulu, Yogaraja guggulu, Simhananda guggulu, Visatinduka vati and Eranda paka and stir them all together with warm water and drink that down. It’s a lot but it may help.
If you would prefer not to mix too many things together and drink them then you can always go with a hot paste that you can mix together. Again with herbal supplements, from the seeds of Black Phaseolus, leaves of Rasna, Sandal and Castor make sure to mix it together well and apply it to sore joints for relief.
Another lotion type mixture can be made from wheat, castor and turmeric mixed in goat’s milk or ghee (a type of clarified butter) and applying it to the area where the pain is.
