Before you begin your Detox Diet you will want to eliminate certain foods from your diet especially during the detox process. These food support the BAD bacteria in our intestines that are not natural foods that cause mucus and grow more bad bacteria in our bodies.

Apple or pear, sliced, with 1 tablespoon raw almond butter

LUNCH: OPTION #1
This meal should be 60 to 80 percent raw vegetables; dark leafy greens, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions. 20%- 40%can consist of your choice of steamed, baked or vegetable casserole, or cold-water fish prepared to your liking.
If you prefer salads stick to the same ratios above.Then prepare your salad dressing using 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil, 2 tsp fresh-squeezed lemon juice, and 1 tsp of your choice of herbs.
 
LUNCH: OPTION #2

Chickpeas and vegetables seasoned to taste
Salad with choice of vegetables

SNACK [Mid Afternoon]

1 dozen raw nuts
Fruit, sliced
Veggie sticks with hummus
Unsalted gluten-free crackers with guacamole or hummus
Kale chips
Smoothie
Vegetable juice

 
DINNER
Dinner will be 60%- 80% vegetables. An easy recipe: combine 1 cup of cooked brown rice or quinoa, 1 to 2 tsp of extra-virgin olive oil or coconut oil, vegetables, beans and legumes, seeds and seasonings, steamed broccoli, avocado, hemp or chia seeds, or seaweed.

Portobello mushroom, baked or lightly sautéed
Steamed kale with nuts and tossed in lemon juice and olive oil
Brown rice
Steamed or baked salmon with herbs and lemon
Vegetable curry with brown rice
Broccoli soup — go easy on the cream
Veggies — raw, steamed or prepared in a casserole
Plant-based protein powder [replaces meat]

 
This, and other, Detox Menus can be used for up to 7 days. Remember that detoxification can cause nausea and fatigue so take it easy and if you feel extremely ill please contact your physician.
