Now, before we start, I will mention that you may not like what I’m about to say.
Dieting alone, will not help you lose weight. It just won’t. There’s no way around this.
You have to make the conscious effort to also couple a good diet with an exercise regime. Yes, there are people that lose weight just from cutting down on their fat, carbohydrate, protein or total calorie intake, but look under their clothes and you will see a different story. It’s not a pretty sight!
Without exercise, in particular weight training, the body cannot tone up and you will be left with an unpleasant sagging skin, and your shape would end up being unattractive.
It’s also worth mentioning that losing weight from dieting is mostly water weight, not fat. This is not a great idea, after all, you don’t want to lose body water and end up being dehydrated.
The only way to burn a lot of fat is through exercise, which means that the best diet plan is one in conjunction with a workout program.
You should choose a diet plan that you can stick to relatively easily long term, and it should also be healthy for your body.
The word ‘diet’ indicates a short-term solution, so think of it as a way of changing your eating habits. Your long-term eating habits should provide you with a balanced amount of nutrients, such as protein for muscles and carbohydrates for energy.

Stay Away From Diets That Focus On Losing Weight Quickly
Not only are they terribly unhealthy, but most of the weight you lose from these diets is water weight. Once again, you need to think about whether you want to lose water or fat. If you want to lose fat, you will probably not lose it quickly, unless you know how. Losing water weight means that you are likely to gain the weight back just as quickly as you lose it, if not faster.
Now, don’t forget to eat! If your body thinks you are starving, it will feed on your muscle tissue for energy. It is not enough to simply eat the right amount of calories each day, you also need to consider how often your body receives a calorie intake.
To make sure that your metabolism works perfectly, you should eat somewhere between five and six meals per day. The total amount of calories from these meals should equal the amount of your daily calorie intake. Eating 5 small meals throughout your day will give your metabolism a stable source of energy so that fat is constantly burned.

Don’t Believe You Should Eat Carbs and Protein Separately
Carbs and protein work together within your body as a team, not as individual processes. Think of it like this….
Muscle cells only need enough carbohydrates so that the glycogen stores are filled. If more are present, it will get converted to fat. However eating protein at the same time will slow down the absorption of carbohydrates, giving your body extra time to burn off these carbohydrates before it gets stored as fat.
So why not just lower your carbohydrate consumption?
Too much protein combined with too little carbohydrates will cause your liver and kidneys to be overburdened, causing dehydration among other things. The key is to know how much carbohydrates and protein your body needs.
Bottom line is, when it comes to dieting and weight loss, losing weight is easy. Losing fat is more of a challenge. That’s why it’s so important to understand the need to stay healthy while losing weight.
