Successful dieting requires a firm commitment and the willingness to be flexible. It holds the promise of weight loss, feeling better and looking better.
We know that you can be successful with your new diet plan in front of you. We also know that a clear guide will make the process much easier. So here are the tips that you need to put your plan into action.
Dieting TIP #1: Drink Lots Of Water
Successful diet results require you to drink at least 8, 8-ounce glasses of water a day. Many people don’t like the taste of water so you may want to consider adding lemon or lime to your daily portions.
You can also install a purifier or purchase a portable counter top unit that will take the chemicals and minerals out of your tap water. We recommend drinking 8-10 glasses beginning with your first glass upon waking up and then continue throughout the day.
Dieting TIP #2: Breakfast of Champions Should Be Your Motto
Breakfast is a must whether you diet or not. When you sleep your metabolism slows and does not function well until you eat again in the morning. If you don’t have time to prepare a full breakfast, consider keeping fruit or hard-boiled eggs in the kitchen.
Dieting TIP #3: 3 Meals Plus 2 Snacks A Day
Smaller portion sizes eaten more frequently will keep your blood sugar and metabolism in check. The 3 Main meals can be breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Then 2 snacks can be added in between. Just remember to eat smaller healthier portions. When you don’t eat breakfast, the chances of binging and eating high carb foods increases.
Dieting TIP #4: Stay Away From White Foods
White foods are usually made with sugar, flour, potatoes, rice and corn and are packed with lots of carbs. Focus on the colorful fruits and vegetables instead and keep those carbs way down. Plus they contain antioxidants, nutrients and are high in fiber. Look for dark green leafy veggies and, apples, oranges, melons and grapes.
Dieting TIP #5: Eat Lots Of Vegetables
Veggies come in a multitude of colors and flavors and can be prepared in many ways such as grilling, baking and sautéing. Most can be eaten raw which is an added benefit by keeping the vitamins in the vegetable when you eat it. 2 cups of salad greens have only 5 carbs so there’s no excuse not to eat your veggies.
TIP #6: Stay away From Processed Foods
When you prepare your own food you know exactly what you’re getting including salt and other spices and flavorings. When you eat elsewhere you cannot control the carbs that are included in the food and no matter what they say, even their low-fat or low-carb meals are not low enough to be a part of your diet program.
Dieting TIP #7: Storage Containers Make A Difference
Using a variety of storage containers will simplify your meal preparation so you can plan ahead and store items in the refrigerator. You store apples for several days by cutting slices and rinsing in lemon or pineapple juice before you place in your container. Prepare your lunch and other meals the same way.
Dieting TIP #8: Include Protein With Your Meals And As Snacks
Protein are made of amino acids that are difficult for your body to break down so your body burns more calories getting rid of them! And most protein foods taste great so stock up on turkey, ham or string cheese!
Dieting TIP #9: Drink Water After Meals And Snacks
This can be a part of your 8-10 glasses of water daily routine! If you’ve ever felt hungry after eating certain foods, then this could be the answer to satisfying those cravings after you eat a meal or snack. That glass of water will give you that full feeling and keep you from over eating.
Dieting TIP #10: Slowly Eat Your Food
Eating slowly will help you enjoy your meal and it helps you stop over eating. Your stomach takes approximately 20 minutes to begin digesting a meal so eating slower will give you time to feel being full.
